The Tractor Guys had the tractors taken on a trailer across the Severn Bridge today as they weren’t allowed to drive them across due to the width of the bridge.
Once they were safely across the bridge, they chugged down through Avonmouth and Bristol where they were quickly soaked by a short, sharp shower. However, it passed quickly and there was lots of sunshine as they motored down the A38 to Lower Weare, which is 20 miles North East of Taunton.
The tractors have been parked up this evening at a farm owned by Mark and Catherine Jackson who made them a nice cup of tea and showed them their beautiful two year old stallion.
Tonight The Tractor Guys are staying with Clive and Heather Barwell. Tones met Clive watching cricket at Melbourne some years ago and they’ve stayed friends ever since.
They went to visit Clive’s son Rob who’s farm was taking part in the nationwide Farm Open Day event, so the guys had a thoroughly good time sipping locally produced cider and listening to the Mangled Wurzels.
After a visit to Somerset’s Peat Moors the guys returned to Clive and Heather’s 400 year old home – which has been beautifully restored, where they enjoyed home made cake in the garden and Clive gave Tones and Bish the sponsorship money that he'd collected on their belhalf totalling £125.00.
