John Bishop
John was born in across the border in Herefordshire into a family of Antique Dealers but has lived in Shropshire since 1966 and in Market Drayton since 1967 where he continues to live.
He has worked in I.T. since 1966 and initially worked on the first computer installed at Silhouette in Shrewsbury, a famous brand in foundation garments!
It was only one of three computers in the county at that time.
He eventually moved from programming and using computers into sales and worked for a giant American manufacturer for many years.
He now has his own company where he provides contract sales services for software houses.
John was diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic (tablet taking) in 1989 following a holiday where he experienced an unquentionable thirst and unaccountable tiredness.
A visit to the doctor on his return from holiday quickly determined the problem.
In common with Tony and probably all other diabetics, it was a real shock and took some getting used to.
But a regime was quickly established and through daily tablets and dietary control he leads an active and normal life.
John’s hobbies are fly fishing, walking and the up-keep of a very old house.
He is married to Chris and has three children and three grandchildren.
